Course Project Instructions: Organizational Profile

6 piece puzzle

Your Course Project is to create an Organizational Profile. This written assignment will provide you with an organizational analysis of your fire department or other emergency service agency. In the course of this analysis, you will examine such topics as an organizational overview; use of a systems approach; recruitment, selection, and promotion; training and development; performance management and evaluation; corrective action and discipline; and a number of employee and labor relations issues.

The Organizational Profile will be broken down into ten parts. You will complete two parts at the end of each of the five modules:

If you are not currently a member of a fire department or other emergency service agency, select an organization, manufacturing company or business entity with which you are familiar and can access in-depth information regarding internal personnel management and organizational processes. You may also consider your city or county government as a topic for this analysis.

You will use the same department or agency throughout the completion of this course.

You should be careful to cite all sources used. Visit Diana Hacker's Research and Documentation Online at http://www.dianahacker.com/resdoc/ to find complete examples of how to cite sources.
